Alzahra Academy is a new Islamic primary school planned for Wollert, Victoria.
The school is being established to provide a high-quality primary education that supports students academically, spiritually, socially and morally. Our aim is to create a safe, structured and nurturing school environment where children develop strong foundations in learning, character and faith.
Alzahra Academy is currently progressing through school registration, planning and construction activities, with a planned opening in Term 1, 2027.
As the founding Head of School of Alzahra Academy, it is an absolute privilege to welcome you to our school community. We are embarking on an exciting journey together as we establish a school dedicated to ensuring every child feels safe, valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential academically, spiritually, and with integrity.
At Alzahra Academy, we believe in strong foundation as the early years shapes a child’s future. Our mission is to provide an exceptional primary education where every student matters and every moment counts. We are committed to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Through evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs, alongside a rich and engaging curriculum, we aim to nurture each child’s unique strengths, interests, and abilities. As Victoria's first Islamic Alawite school, this academic focus is grounded in our dedication to spiritual growth and faith under the Jafari school of thought, helping our students develop a strong sense of character, identity, values, and moral responsibility.
We take great pride in building an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where every child feels a deep sense of belonging. We are equally passionate about building strong, collaborative partnerships with families and the wider community. Educational excellence is achieved when there is a strong connection between the school and family community; working together to support its students.
As we progress through our registration, planning, and construction phases toward our planned opening in Term 1, 2027, I look forward to sharing our milestones with you and welcoming your family into our growing community.
I warmly invite you to connect with us, explore our vision, and join us in building an exceptional place for our children to learn, character-build, and grow.
Kind regards,
Hassan Mansour
Head of School
Alzahra Academy
Alzahra Academy is being developed as an independent primary school for families seeking strong teaching, Islamic values, student wellbeing and a connected school community.
The school will initially focus on the early years of primary education, supporting students through a calm, caring and purposeful learning environment.
Our approach is centred on:
Alzahra Academy’s educational philosophy is based on the belief that every child can learn, grow and flourish when they are known, supported and challenged.
We aim to combine explicit teaching, structured learning, student wellbeing and Islamic values to create a balanced school experience. Our classrooms will be places where students are encouraged to ask questions, build skills, develop confidence and practise respect in their daily interactions
Islamic values are central to the identity of Alzahra Academy.
Our school will support students to develop good manners, respect, honesty, responsibility, compassion and service. Islamic learning, Qur’an and Arabic language will form part of the student experience and will be delivered in an age-appropriate and supportive way.
We aim to help students build a strong connection to faith while also developing the skills and confidence to participate positively in Australian society.
Alzahra Academy exists to support children to grow as confident learners and people of good character. We want our students to develop knowledge, discipline, curiosity, compassion and a strong sense of identity.
We believe education should prepare students not only for academic success, but also for service, responsibility and positive contribution to their families and communities.
To nurture confident, capable and values-driven students who are grounded in faith, committed to learning, and prepared to contribute positively to the world around them.
During 2026, Alzahra Academy is focused on finalising the key requirements needed to establish the school.
Alzahra Academy is planned to open in Term 1, 2027 with a controlled initial intake.
The first year will focus on establishing strong school routines, high-quality teaching practices, safe operations, clear communication with families and a positive foundation school culture.
As the school grows, Alzahra Academy intends to expand enrolments, staffing, facilities and programs in a staged and sustainable way.
Future growth will be guided by student needs, registration requirements, community demand and the school’s long-term master planning.
Alzahra Academy is being built with a long-term vision.
Our goal is to establish more than a school building. We are working to create a trusted learning community where students are safe, families are respected, staff are supported, and Islamic values are lived through everyday conduct.
We look forward to working with families and the wider community as Alzahra Academy prepares for its planned opening.
